CIF : Viewports : Using Standard Viewports

The simplest way to install a CIF Viewport on your web site is to use one of the standard designs which ship as part of the Viewport Gallery included with the installation zip file provided by Growth House, Inc. These pre-designed Viewport configurations come complete with framesets, inset pages, graphics, and sitemaps. The Viewport Gallery gives you a "web site in a zip file" and can be used as the basis for an entire site designed around CIF principles. After extracting the standard CIF installation zip file to your hard drive, to activate the Viewport Gallery just open the file educate/gallery.html in your web browser.

If you find a gallery design which you would like to use on your own web site, copy the relevant HTML files from the educate/template subdirectory to the educate/testing subdirectory. You can customize the HTML files there without disturbing the original gallery templates. It is a good idea to make new names for your custom pages so you can distinguish them from gallery templates. When you are happy with your customization, move the final versions back into the educate/template subdirectory for production use. You may also add custom graphics and sitemaps to their respective subdirectories as needed to support your custom design.
