CIF : Viewports : Developing Custom Viewports

You are welcome to develop custom CIF Viewports so long as any Viewport you design gives credit to Growth House, Inc., as the developer of the CIF standard, and includes a link back to http://www.growthhouse.org with TARGET="_TOP" as part of its basic design. You may not use remote CIF content modules without permission from Growth House, Inc., or from participating CIF content development web sites which are the authors of remote content. Use of the Growth House, Inc., Curriculum Interchange Format CIF technology, templates, graphics, sitemaps, and content is subject to all applicable copyright laws.

You may design your own custom CIF Viewport from scratch, or you can use the standard Viewport Gallery designs as starting points. To customize a Viewport Gallery design copy the relevant HTML files from the educate/template subdirectory to the educate/testing subdirectory. You can customize the HTML files there without disturbing the original gallery templates. It is a good idea to make new names for your custom pages so you can distinguish them from gallery templates. When you are happy with your customization, move the final versions back into the educate/template subdirectory for production use. You may also add custom graphics and sitemaps to their respective subdirectories as needed to support your custom design.
