The Grief Care Community (GCC) provides grief support for individuals, couples, and families in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Eight-week Bereavement Support Groups are for persons grieving a death. We provide a safe, supportive environment in which to share your loss with others who understand. The fee is $80.
Our nondenominational Loss, Grief, and Spirituality Support Groups help to bring meaning and healing to our grief of any kind: death, illness, separation, anticipated loss, etc. by sharing, using intuitive art, guided imagery, rituals, and healing meditations. These are ongoing groups with an initial eight-week commitment.
There is an $80 fee for 8 weeks. Using our compassion and spiritual understanding we explore how:
- Life-changing events contain potential for meaning,
- A negative event can be an essential part of the process of finding
direction in life, in part because it was not immediately healed,
- Seeing this may bring unexpected strength and possibilities,
- The essence of healing does not lie in the efficiency with which life can be restored, but in the meaning that is added to life.
Individual Grief Counseling and Therapy is provided for the immediate need of individual attention or long term work. Fees are according to a sliding scale.
We offer a referral service to grief support through other agencies in the Bay Area.
